Whether you are a community looking to adopt a local preservation ordinance or an established historic preservation commission seeking educational materials, NAPC can help.

By joining NAPC, you receive access to our member Listserv, which is the ideal forum for the exchange of ideas and advice on all issues related to preservation commissions. Current NAPC members can join our Listserv by sending an email to napc@uga.edu with “Join NAPC-L” in the subject line. Click here for our Listserv Policy.

Code of Ethics: The Code of Ethics for Commissioners and Staff was developed by members of the NAPC through an interactive process beginning with a series of facilitated sessions held during the July 2006 NAPC FORUM in Baltimore, MD. The resulting set of principles was further developed and refined by members during the following three-month period leading up to the November 2006 annual meeting of NAPC in Pittsburgh, PA.

NAPC Short Guide to Parliamentary Procedure: The National Alliance of Preservation Commissions (NAPC) has compiled and written For the Record: The NAPC Short Guide to Parliamentary Procedure to help commission members and staff understand parliamentary procedure and to serve as a handy reference when questions arise. Like any tool, however, this guide won’t help if it isn’t used. So, read it, study it, make notes in the margins, and keep it within easy reach.

Online Design Guidelines: Looking for examples of design guidelines for your community?  Our online design guidelines collection is organized by state for easy searching.
